SOP Presentation

The only presentation I made for this year. A very challenging task for me, since it's the worst topic ever for the entire department. If people hear the term "SOP", they will immediately gasp, shake their heads or throw bad comments. That's a challenge my manager gave me as one of my goals for this year.

SOP is a written procedure with the intention of repetitive use with agreed specifications aiming at obtaining a desired outcome

That's at least what the website businessdictionary.com defines. That's also the ultimate goal having the SOP, so that people start thinking also about other people who ultimately are going to take over the work. In general, people don't like to document the work they're doing, just because it takes so much time and effort. However, it's only the beginning that's hard. After the framework is there, it's totally easy to document what you're doing. I guess, you know that people are just lazy.

The good thing is at least my manager was satisfied about the presentation and the good work I've done. He supports me all the way and compliment the documentation I made as the best we have currently. Next year, he wants each of us start implementing it as one of the goals. Luckily he's the head of our department, so that the rest of us who have been resisting the whole time will have no choice but start really doing it.

I'm totally amazed how people react only, if the managers start putting pressure on them, instead of thinking about doing things for other people, what they would also expect from other people.
